Designed and led by painter and participatory artist Nicky Myny, the residency brings people into a guided creative process where making, material exploration, dialogue and shared experience become a way to meet a theme more deeply.
This residency is not a workshop, training, therapy, coaching or entertainment format. It is a process-led artistic residency that brings the intelligence of art into organisational, educational, cultural, care and community contexts.

Why participatory art
Another way in.
Not everything that shapes an organisation can be solved through conversation alone. Culture, trust, belonging, transition and wellbeing are not only rational themes. They are felt in relationships, atmosphere, silence and shared experience.
Participatory art offers another way in. Through making, material exploration and reflection, people can engage beyond roles, performance and opinion. It can make invisible layers visible, open dialogue without forcing answers, and create shared traces that people can return to.
This work does not position art as medicine, treatment or therapy. It works with art as a human and cultural practice that can create conditions for connection, reflection, meaning-making and wellbeing.
What happens
A custom process, in four phases.
Every residency is custom-designed around the organisation, the people involved and the central theme. A residency may include participatory art sessions, creative inquiry, material exploration, guided reflection, individual and collective making, dialogue, visual research, artistic documentation, a visual harvest, a collective artwork or installation element, a public presentation, an artist talk or a closing reflection.
Phase 01
Discovery & artistic direction
The residency begins with a discovery conversation. Together, we explore the organisation's context, the people involved, the theme, the desired outcome and the practical frame. From there, ARTKOM develops an artistic direction: the central creative question, the participatory format, the materials, the timeline and the possible final outcome.
Phase 02
Participatory process
Participants enter a guided creative process led by Nicky Myny. Depending on the context, this may unfold through one intensive moment, a series of sessions, an ongoing residency period or a combination of group and individual encounters, painting, mark-making, collective canvases, material experiments, visual reflection, written prompts, shared dialogue and moments of silence. No artistic experience is required.
Phase 03
Visual harvest & artistic documentation
Throughout the residency, visual traces are gathered: images, process fragments, words, colours, gestures, materials, collective compositions or emerging artworks. Depending on the scope, ARTKOM can create a visual harvest, artistic documentation or reflective process summary that helps the organisation see what emerged, a way to continue the conversation beyond the residency itself.
Phase 04
Closing moment or public presentation
A residency can close with an internal reflection moment, artist talk, exhibition, presentation or public-facing event. This moment gives the process a visible form. It allows participants, stakeholders or the wider community to witness what was created, what became visible and why it matters.

Her role is not to diagnose, coach or train participants. Her role is to create and hold an artistic space where people can participate, reflect, connect and make meaning through creative practice.
